GEAR AID have some brilliant products to get us out of grief whilst in the outdoors. From fixing a leaky boot to patching a tent tear or leaking seam, you will agree that it would be a good idea to keep one or two of these in your backpack or your camping gear.

So lets have a closer look in a bit more detail, hoping that we will never have to use them. Click on the images for more product photos/instructions or read more about each product further down this page.

TENT SEAM SEALANT (new improved formula)
This is a 'FAST CURE' seam sealant for tents both large and small, so if you had a leak from some of your tents sticking whilst last on a trip then this is the stuff to fix it with when you get back. There's a brush on the end of the applicator bottle and the usage is pretty straight forward but it comes with full instructions.

I imagine you can use it to seal up the seams on other outdoor gear besides tents. It's long lasting, dries clear and it's flexible/washable too.

(water-based formula and environmentally friendly).

SEAM GRIP + WP (waterproof)
This stuff is said to not only seals seams, stop leaks but can also be used to fix holes and tears in flexible materials.

Apply it internally either straight from the tube or use the small applicator brush provided.

As for fixing small tears / rips, the instructions say to apply some removable tape as a backing and then fill the void with the SEAM GRIP. Thinner and numerous applications will cure quicker.

You might be asking, "why don't you just apply a patch?". Well here you have one product that can be used for both seam sealing as well as fixing holes/rips. Not quite 'one ring to rule them all', but if space is at a premium, this small tube is rather handy for a multitude of repairs.

TENACIOUS TAPE
'Better than duct tape' is what the packaging states, but is it? We haven't yet had the misfortune use any yet but this stuff does sound the business, sticking to almost any surface ("aggressive adhesive"), one advantage it does certainly have over duct tape is that it's washable/waterproof.

This stuff could be used to fix anything outdoor related, from tears in tents tents to leaks air mats. It's said to provide a long lasting repair on synthetic and natural fabrics too, such as fleece, (fleece, vinyl, rubber etc.).

Tenacious tape takes up less space than a roll of duct tape, and can certainly be used for a lot more emergency applications.

GORE-TEX PATCHES
(Tenacious Tape GORE-TEX and WIND STOPPER).

This is the ONLY repair tape authorised by GORE-TEX. It contains 2 pressure-sensitive patches, providing a strong 'infield' repair.

Leave a patch in the inner pocket of your favourite GORE-TEX jacket and if you get a snag or tear that needs a fix before it gets worse or you get wet, then you're covered and can carry on your adventures.

They're also easy to remove, leaving no residue should you need a more professional repair. The GORE-TEX patches can also be used to provide a waterproof repair to other outdoor gear such as backpacks, waders, trousers, shoes etc.

GEAR PATCHES
These are great, we love em, mainly because it brings out the big kid in us. WHY?

Check out the photos on the other page (click photo above) and you will see that these repair patches come in a range of fun pre-cut shapes. It's basically black Tenacious tape in the form of stars, moons, rain drops, a squirrel and a Yeti, there's even one that looks a bit like the TentLife logo!

Use these beauties to perform easy repairs or even just customise your favourite outdoor gear. Jazz up that backpack or jacket and make it YOURS. More than just stickers, these Tenacious Tape patches are backed with the 'ultra-aggressive adhesive' that won't peel or lift come rain, snow or shine.

SHOE REPAIR (Aquasure)
Obviously, as the name suggests, this stuff repairs the soles / rands on footwear. You can also use this stuff to repair torn panels and even build up worn down heels - impressive.

It comes with a brush applicator should you need it, and the included booklet includes usage instructions as well as some repair tips and tricks.

TENT FABRIC SEALANT (new improved formula)
If you love camping then this stuff could be one of your best friends, especially if you like to keep your gear for a while.

If your tent fabric starts leaking, this stuff is used to apply a waterproof quick drying urethane coating to the offending areas using a brush or sponge. Let it dry and away you go.

Once cured it's flexible protection should have you back in the outdoors under a good-as-new shelter. Tent Fabric Sealant ((previously called Tent Sure), is also water-based and non-toxic too.
